Biography
Ramon Branch Biescas (b. 2001, Tarragona, Spain) is a tuba player working across the UK's orchestral scene. He has performed with ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales (trial).
He is currently part of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Scheme, following a fellowship with the orchestra, and has also worked closely with the London Symphony Orchestra through side-by-side projects.
As a soloist, Ramon has performed Vaughan Williams' Tuba Concerto with both Sutton Philharmonic Orchestra and Guildford Symphony Orchestra. He is also an active chamber musician, playing with the Heron Brass Quintet, who have been recognised in competitions including the Royal Overseas League and Philip Jones Brass Competition, as well as performing with Ventus Duo.
Alongside performing, Ramon is involved in teaching and outreach work alongside other courses and music services.
He studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, graduating with First Class Honours, and recently completed a Master's in Orchestral Artistry. He now works as a freelance musician, combining orchestral playing, chamber music, and teaching.
